Self-assessments allow you to perform an internal LQA audit for yourself or your colleagues in order to continuously be aware of areas for improvement.
In order to create self-assessment in myLQA (mobile app), your hotel will require an active myLQA license which has been assigned to you as a user, please reach out to your admin user for this access.
1. To start a new Self Assessment:
Go to the myActions button on the menu at the bottom of the screen (#1)
Select Create New (#2)
Select Create Self Assessment.
2. Pick which Departments/Sub-departments to assess:
Open the dropdown for the department you want (#1).
Select the Department/s you plan to assess.
Select Sub-departments from the Department dropdown if you would like to assess specific Sub-departments (#2):
3. Create a Quick Self Assessment for yourself
Choose Quick Self Assessment.
There will be a reminder that this will be assigned to yourself.
Confirm to begin. The due date defaults to current date.
4. Create an Assigned Self Assessment for colleagues
Choose Assign Self Assessment.
Select Assign Departments
For each assignee
Pick the department sections they should complete.
Add a due date.
Add notes or context the assignee should see.
Click Save and Assign More if you want to assign the other departments/sub-departments to other users.
Note: These can only be assigned to people that are already LQA users.
When finished, select Finalize to see the summary.
Review the summary and click Send to distribute. Each assignee is notified.
Use Edit to make changes if needed.
Use the delete icon to remove an assignment

5. Track and open Self Assessments in progress
Return to the myActions button to view the number of open Self Assessment, click on the Self Assessment section to see the full list of Self Assessments.
Toggle between Received and Sent to filter.
Received: displays all Self Assessments assign to you
Sent: displays all Self Assessments you have assigned to other users.
Select a Self Assessment and click on the Complete button to open an assessment and continue working.
6. Complete the assessment
Work through each standard in the section you are on.
Watch your score and progress update in real time at the top.
Upload relevant media if helpful, for example photos or recordings of a call.
7. Mark each standard and add comments

Use the comment box to add clear, specific context. Good comments improve data quality and help reveal trends over time.
8. Capture the Emotional Guest Connection
Add Emotional Guest Connection ratings at the end of service interactions for example Check In, Concierge, or Breakfast.
Fill in Self Assessment Comments. For example, note timing, general observals or operational context.
Choose an EQ Rating from 1 to 5 that reflects the emotional connection with the guest. Pair it with a word from the emotion bank that best fits the interaction. Reserve 5 for truly exceptional moments.
Write a short summary of the emotional experience.
Add Positives, Negatives, and Recommendations. We recommend aiming for at least two bullet points in each area focused on the guest impact.
Tag any involved users. The person must already exist in your system to be tagged.
9. Save or Submit
Click Save often to keep your work.
Click Submit when finished. The assessment is returned to the person who assigned it.

You can return to myActions from anywhere in the app using the myActions button.
While assigning, watch the real time counter in each department to see how many sections are already assigned.
